Transborder Engagement

This initiative strengthens binational faculty collaboration in research and teaching across the California–Baja California border region. It supports co-created academic experiences between SDSU faculty and partner institutions in Mexico, expanding transborder perspectives across disciplines. The initiative fosters multidisciplinary, applied projects focused on regional issues such as environmental challenges, quality of life, sustainable development, economic development, and cross-border planning. Outcomes include joint research projects, fieldwork, and project-based coursework. Binational partner universities in Baja California include:
Universidad Autónoma de Baja California
El Colegio de la Frontera Norte
Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada
Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur
